Always the Showstopper

By Courtney Kretchman

What happens when a renowned makeup artist joins forces with a celebrity fashion styling duo?
You have a Showstopper.

This fall season, nationally celebrated makeup artist and creator of LORAC, Carol Shaw, tapped the It design duo, Estee Stanley and Cristina Ehrlich to design the packaging of her latest color palette: Showstopper.

Stanley and Ehrlich, creators of the miss davenporte clothing line, left no detail untouched. They came up with a black beaded, vintage-esque material to cover the enveloped makeup compact, set it in a soft pouch and packaged it in a shimmery box with a ribbon closure reminiscent of an old Victorian choker.

Not at all just icing, the cake here is the best part. The compact itself is superb for fall. Four eye shadows in soft smoky shades sit next to a sweet rose pink blush. All hues seamlessly go from day to night.

The eye shadows: Sand (pale beige), Serenity (peach tan), Luxe (golden brown) and Glamour (smoky black). The blush: Couture (golden pink rose).

Like all LORAC shadows, these are finely milled powders that sweep smoothly onto the lid with a dry brush, but obtain a rich depth for sultry eyes when applied wet.

The Showstopper palette really is as good as its name suggests. A definite must-have for fall. The only thing missing from this all-around fabulous find: a brush.
