Chocolate Meets Makeup

Chocolate kisses. Could anything sound sweeter?
This season, the tempting allure of warm cocoas and chocolates have made their way into our beauty palettes.
Less intense than black, but equally as inviting for the evening, deep shades of brown have become the new ‘it’ hues for lids this fall. Soft, sultry, warm but unapologetic. All shades, from dirty to mocha, blend beautifully and are practically foolproof.
If a sweet chocolate kiss is the only thing you crave, try clean eyes with Rimmel’s 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in Daring Nude. Finish filled-in lips with a clear gloss or Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Lipstick in Vamp Chic, for a tempting Godiva-esque air. www.rimmellondon.com
If you believe, like most, that the eyes have it – you’re in for a delectable delight this fall. Create classic autumn eyes by lining Bourjois’ Metallic Eyeliner in Brun Inoxydable or Sue Devitt’s Eye Intensifier Pencil in Gold Reef fully around the lash lines. Both available at Sephora.
For a smooth hot chocolate look, try Dianne Brill’s Eye Lingerie shadows in Belgian Lace or Lace Ribbons. So beautifully packaged, the feminine casing is a treat in itself. Wear alone or blend a few shades together to intensify the sheen. To brighten up eyes, add Tiara Lace or Peekaboo Lace to inner corners or brow bones. Available at Marie Mason Apothecary in Brentwood, CA.
If you covet a smokier dark chocolate, apply Bobbi Brown’s Gel Eyeliner in Chocolate Shimmer Ink on upper lids. With just the right amount of subtle shimmer, it’s just as stunning lined or smudged. www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com
With eyes this striking and seductive, lips look best nearly nude. For lighter skin tones, try Smashbox’s gloss in Silhouette (www.smashbox.com). For medium to darker tones, try Diane Brill’s Lip Lingerie in Gossamer Garters or Lorac’s Lotsa Lip in Hottie (www.loraccosmetics.com). All are delicate enough to be worn with the richest of eyes, while providing the perfect café au lait finishing touch.
… And after all, what’s more complementary to a spoonful of chocolate than a good latte?
