Beauty

By Lindsey Speirs

Here in LA, trendy new beauty products pop up as often as scandalous celeb videos do on TMZ.com. While there are a lot of questionable new items out there, there are also some great finds. Luckily, the latest trends in the cosmetics world seem focused on convenience- and we can all agree that’s one trend that never goes out of style. Some new spins companies have put on the classic beauty products will have you wondering why no one had thought of it sooner. We’ve searched around and found some great new products that put an innovative and convenient twist on the classic beauty staples of every girl’s collection, and here are a few of our faves:

Sunforgettable Powder Sunscreen by Colorescience

Sunforgettable Powder Sunscreen By Colorescience

Great news for those who hate the hassle, smell or feel of tradition sunscreen – Colorescience has come up with an easier and more pleasant way to apply your daily dose of sunscreen. Sunforgettable Powder Sunscreen is just that, a powder form of sunscreen. Instead of slapping that greasy, fragrant lotion all over your face, simply use this product like you would any normal face powder. The powder not only serves to protect your skin from damaging rays, but also eliminates oil and comes in clear or tinted formulations. Better yet, the powder can be used in place of sunscreen for your entire body, and now even comes in a golden shimmer color. This great product will save you time in your daily beauty routine and is super easy to reapply when needed.

Spinlash by Akasha

Spinlash, By Akasha

Trade in your boring old mascara for the latest in battery-operated beauty tools. Yes, you read right- we’re talking battery-operated mascara. Now before you write this idea off as completely crazy, take a closer look. This new product is a mascara wand that rotates 360 degrees either left or right when you hold down the according button. This stable rotation of the wand and bristles virtually eliminates all those bumps and clumps that come from applying mascara manually. Best of all, it’ll save you tons of mirror-time trying to achieve that perfect application. The mascara goes on so smoothly that it almost gives the appearance of false lashes. You can use the Spinlash wand with your favorite mascara, or use the one provided for you in the package.

Nic's Sticks by OPI

Nic’s Sticks By OPI

Nic’s Sticks paint and go nail lacquer is perfect for those who get frustrated by the often difficult process of painting your own nails. Gripping the product at the base, you simply pump the top of the tube, then apply the paint – holding it like you would a pen. The long tubular shape allows for a much better grip and greater accuracy than the traditional bottle and brush approach. Plus, the polish dries in under a minute- super convenient for the girl on the go!
