I admit it; I was born with skinny lips. I have always envied juicy, plump, kissable lips. So I was thrilled when I saw a slew of new lip-plumping lip glosses out there. But there are so many, how do I choose which one is the best? So I tirelessly tried out the best lip plumpers. I wore them while shopping in Soho, going to a loft party, sipping Bellinis and trying to seduce the crowd with my newly plumper lips. Some lip plumpers made my lips look so huge that I got stopped in the street because I was mistaken for Angelina Jolie. And I'm a blonde. Ok, maybe they didn't think I was Ange, but I can dream about having Brad Pitt's babies, and use lip plumping gloss to get lips as sumptuous as hers. Do lip plumping lip glosses really work? We got the skinny from the Baron of Botox and Madonna's dermatologist, Dr. Frederic Brandt. He uses lip fillers in his practice and also has a lip plumper in his skin care line. In an exclusive interview with Beauty News, Dr. Brandt said that lip plumping lip gloss works for the short term because it irritates/hydrates the skin. So lip plumping gloss can actually give your lips the seductive fullness that you crave. Read the following reviews on the best lip plumping glosses and see which is right for you.

City lips has fun geographical names for its colors like los angeLIPS, TINSEL town and my favorite, san franKISSco. It feels very comfortable on, not sticky or tacky. It plumped my lips to utter perfection and gave me a very voluptuous pout. I also love their eminently portable gift sets, with four mini City Lips glosses each. Since I am a girly-girl and covet all things pink, my favorite color set is the City Chic Set, which comes with los angeLIPS, a soft pink shimmer, TINSEL town, a flushed pink with fine silver shimmer, monte COSMO, a sheer raspberry, and san franKISSco, a sheer rose with a hint of plum. All of the shades in this kit are sophisticated, wearable pinks that gloss up your lips while making them look luscious. And best of all? City Lips is tested on celebrities, not animals.

DuWop's classic lip venom now comes in fun colors. The Little Stars set, available through, features a trio of Venom Glosses in their most popular shades: tulip, a sheer red, lantana, a super-sheer hot pink, and buttercup, a light shimmery champagne color. They smell good enough to eat and have some serious plumping action. I tried the tulip color because, while I usually shy away from red, I love sheer red gloss. It is such a versatile wash of color; it's not too red and looks very natural because it lets your own lip color shine through. It made my lips look like I sucked on a cherry Popsicle. It really works. Suddenly, my small lips looked full and flushed, giving me the look of love.

Next, I tried skin effects Lip Effects Lip Magnifier by Dr. Jeffrey Dover. It comes in a gorgeous Tiffany-blue box and goes on clear. The colorless gloss tingled a bit and made my lips look full and flushed. My lips looked a shade darker then my natural color because the lip gloss enhanced my natural lip color. In addition to the color rush and volume, the gloss instantly smoothed out the wrinkles in my chapped lips. The gloss rejuvenated my lips and made them look younger. I would recommend this product to the mature woman who wants her lips to look not only fuller, but younger as well.

Wet and Wild Mega Plump is a great lip plumping value with an affordable price tag. It has a spicy cinnamon smell and sparkles with luminous shimmer. The hourglass packaging is fun and trendy. The wand looks a lot more expensive then it is and the gloss is great too. The colors are very wearable and are named after different countries. Clear Ice-Land is translucent, Hel-pink-i is a subtle shimmery pink and Cairo-mel is a beachy, sparkly beige. It plumped my lips with a high gloss finish and oh-so-sexy shimmer. This is what lip gloss should look like, wet, slightly shimmery gloss in subdued, sheer pastel colors.

If you love beauty as much as I do, you probably love cute handbags too. So I was thrilled to see that Lipformulush comes in a great little black and red handbag-shaped box. Aside from the cute packaging, Lipformulush smells spicy like cloves and moisturizes my dry lips really well. I also love how sheer the colors are. I tried on the Plum Crazy color. It looks very dark in the bottle but glides on very sheer with a subtle plum flush and a hint of shimmer. Lipformulush feels just as moisturizing as lip balm and has great wash of color for soft, lush, kissable lips, every time.

Pout Plump makes my lips feel cool, tingly and minty and smells good enough to eat. It comes in original clear and some exciting colors. The best colors are clear, bubblegum, a light pink, forbidden fruit, a hot pink, and pimento, a sheer red. I tried Pout Plump in forbidden fruit. It made my lips look shiny, smooth and seductively pouty, with a super-glossy fullness to them. The sophisticated yet sexy gloss is great for a night out on the town, when you want to impress people with your luscious lips. This line is called Pout for a reason. They have perfected the delightful art of plumping your precious pout.
