If you love the outer packaging of products as much as you heart the colors and formulations inside those pretty lil’ tubes, then you’ll find Maria B Cosmetics to-die-for! The line, created by make up artist Mina Trujillo, is packaged in chic, edgy containers and tagged by the creator as “Face Couture.”

We love love love the Leatherette Lip Couture in Pussycat, a nude gloss packaged in a vintage compact and embossed with a heart. Leatherette is true to its name, giving your pucker a patent leather shine. It can be worn alone or over your fave lipstick for a little extra sumthin’ sumthin’.

The Acapulco blush is a bronzy pink that’ll give you a glow comparable to having spent a week in Barbados, and it’s packaged in a tiger-striped tin! We also love the multi-tasking kits, namely the Dolce Eye/Lip Palette in Volume 1. It’ll fit in even the teeniest of clutches, and addresses all your makeup needs at once.

The line’s rich hued Lip Shines (we’re totally digging on Honey, a beigey pink, and Lola, a siren-red, both of which give your smackers “hello there” shine and color) will look as cute in your new Chloe bag as they do on your lips, thanks to their tiger-striped tubes. “We design our products with complete practicality and ultra chic style in mind,” says Miss Trujillo, who is also a mom of two. “Because we recognize that today’s “˜it’ girl is a busy, hip socialite with places to go and people to meet, the products are fun, whimsical, edgy, and are designed to take the guesswork out of make-up application.”

Trujilo, who named her line after a beautiful, universally recognizable name, is all about red, red, red! Check out more of Maria B’s beautiful offerings at www.mariabcosmetics.com.

Favorite product she’s created:
Red Lip Paint. She oughta be proud of this expansive product, as it’s offered in a whopping 30 shades of red with cream, matte, pearl, and sheer finishes among the offerings. “Red is such a classic color that goes back hundreds of years, when women started wearing color. They used to crush red rose petals to get the color on the lips and cheeks, so I wanted a modern day make-up line that was also grounded in tradition, and red is definitely the color for that!”

The one product all women need in their make up bags:
Trujillo suggests “red lipstick worn as a stain” as a make up bag essential because of its universality. “It looks good on women of all ages, races, traditions, etc,” she says.

The one product she cannot live without:
Manhattan Red Lip Paint. “I love it, and I can’t live without it, especially as a stain with lip gloss on top.”

Her advice to all women:
This shouldn’t come as a shock, but Trujillo dares all you fine ladies to try red lipstick! We told you she has a thing for reds! “It is a magical, classic, powerful color,” Trujillo says. “Ask for professional advice, though, since reds can be tricky. But once you find your shade, it could be the magic behind the “˜instant face lift.’ Red can give you that added confidence and could potentially renew your look instantly. Try red as a stain and slowly build up your color as you become comfortable with it. Every woman in the universe should own a shade of red.” You hear that, gals? If you’ve been avoiding red or have been talking yourself out of trying red, kick that notion to the curb, and pronto! Try a red! Live a little. It’s just a color, and it comes off as easily as it goes on. You’ll thank us, and Mina Trujillo, in the morning.
