So it’s that time of year again – Valentine’s Day. Some hate it, some live for it – but I don’t care who you are, if you get a gift on February 14th, you’re going to be happy happy happy. And…what makes us happier than chocolate? Uh, gold . What makes us happier than gold? Uh, chocolate and gold. Just the thought of it is too good to be true, mes cheries!
The folks at Delafée International figured this one out and they actually did something about it. They have made edible 24K gold. It’s edible chocolate 24K gold. Well, to be more specific, it’s Swiss chocolate pralines with 24K gold leaf hand-applied to each praline. That is so decadent I can’t even imagine how FABULOUS it must be.
We, as in the United States, are like the last ones to catch on to this decorating our sweets with gold. That shocks me just slightly, but at least we’re catching on now. Oh, and did I neglect to mention that the Delafée 24 K gold chocolates are going to be presented in this year’s Oscar gift baskets to such celebuhotties like Cameron Diaz, George Clooney, and Joaquin Phoenix? Yummy yummy yummy on so many levels.
There are only a few days left before V-Day, which means there is still time to go online, hook your honey up with some of these deliciosities, and expect a night to remember. I can give an almost guarantee you’ll be the big hero/heroine of the hour if you go this route. It’s way better than normal chocolates, way better than flowers that are going to die, and…well, less expensive than that 3 carat diamond engagement ring she wants with the 4oz box starting at $32.95 and the 12oz box going for $85.95…although it might be in your best interest to hook her up with that as well.
There is only one retailer in the US that sells the Delafée chocolates, and it’s Harmony Sweets. Go to their site, check it out, and indulge baby, indulge. They sell other chocolates as well if you just can’t get enough. I can tell you this – Razi, uh, I mean, Erika, loves her some of these chocolates almost more than she loves referring to herself in the third person. Hook a girl up!
