Whew! It’s been a crazy week for this City Pulse girl, what with having to move into a new apartment and all. And then prepping for a top secret mission to a mystery destination (which I cannot divulge…can you imagine the scandal?!), where I am tasked with ogling young, shirtless, tattooed boys (so hard, my life is!). Truly, that’s all I do. In fact, I’m on layover in George Bush Intercontinental Airport as I write this (trying unsuccessfully to dodge crying babies and scooching teenagers…the horror!). Ok, so this leg of the assignment is pretty brutal, but the rest is cake (German chocolate, of course). Now I know you may all be starting to schvitz and whimper that with all this personal mayhem, I’m fixing to leave you high and dry, jonsing for your City Pulse fix and left to fend for yourselves in this mad, mad shopping world. But, really, what kind of friend would I be if I did that to you, mis queridas amigas? ‘Sides, you know I could scant resist imparting an absolutely essential juicy little tidbit below.

This week, your not-quite-so-secret mission, should you choose to accept it, is to grab a girlfriend (or ten) and your checkbook (does anybody actually write checks anymore? anyhoo), and get your pumped-up arses downtown to the BI ANNUAL LILY MCNEAL SAMPLE SALE to-do-happening, this Thursday and Friday. Incidentally, it dawned on me (while simultaneously packing, unpacking and frantically arranging clothes in my new closet) that many of us might need to replenish our wardrobes for summer, uummm… me especially. I can’t even begin to explain what a huge yawning gap my post-move-closet-purge has left. Hungry for hot new duds is what. And with maaajor discounts, not only on luscious Lily McNeal knit tops, but also on great finds from MIMO, PICK DICE, and OLGA KAPUSTINA, who can resist packing it into their sweet closet, just waiting and wanting to please (yes, in Maya-world, the closet and clothing have feelings… what!)?

So while I’m ultra bummed that my top-secret mission supersedes and impedes my shopping duties (which on second thought, seem far more important), you can take full advantage of all the goodies sure to be flying out of the trunk. Go forth, my fellow secret shopping agents, fulfill your destiny, follow my directives and shop! I expect full verbal and written reports on your findings waiting on my desk upon my return to LaLa Land.
