‘Be’ Does West Coast Chic Best

By Allison O'Rourke

Let me begin by saying that every so often my most discriminating nose comes across a fragrance that captures an essence so completely, so entirely, that all I can do when taking a whiff is to simply exclaim, “Aha!” It’s as if someone has honed in on exactly what a certain place and emotion should smell like.

This is undoubtedly the case with Be, the first fragrance and brainchild of Kristen Becker and John Eshaya of becker.eshaya. The collaboration of two longtime friends and colleagues, Be is a reflection of its creators and their love affair with the West Coast lifestyle.

Be is both sumptuous and wistful; truly embodying the easy going California lifestyle. A citrusy top note of Italian mandarin is layered with soft floral undertones of pink peony, lily of the valley, and rose damascena, finished with the lightest touch of white musk. The result: a fresh and vibrant eau de parfum that’s understated enough for the office, yet sensuous enough for a night of club hopping.

The Be fragrance collection includes a eau de parfum spray which emits a super- fine mist of the elegant scent, a fragranced candle with a gorgeously unique mirrored lid, and an eau de parfum fragrance pen, small and chic enough to fit into the back pocket of your Seven’s and perfect for touchups on the go. My favorite part- the convenient roll on applicator with a patented metal ball that prevents leaking into my new summer tote.
