Suffering from limp strands? Looking for a little lift and tons of texture? Vying for volume at the crown? If you’ve answered an emphatic “yes” to any of these questions, then wait “˜til you get your mitts on Aveda’s Pure Abundance Hair Potion, a magical brew that pumps up the volume.
I’m not going to concern myself with who cooked up this potion, and in what cauldron. I’m just focusing on the simple fact that this stuff works, and since it’s manufactured by the environmentally friendly folks at Aveda, I know it’s derived from natural sources and is good for my hair. And yours!
Pure Abundance Hair Potion begins in powder form and then changes into a liquid. Two squirts into the palm of your hand is all you need. Rub your palms together ““this is when the powder changes to a sticky, liquid-like state- and rake them through your hair, wherever you need a little lift, and viola! You’ve got instant volume and texture, without looking like you came from the 80s when big hair reigned supreme! You may want to toss some baby wipes in your handbag because the potion leaves a sticky residue behind, even if you use a single drop. I’ve found the Pure Abundance Potion is best for volume at the crown and at the roots, and that it doesn’t quite thicken the ends of your hair. However, it’s a fabulous styling product when you want a messy, bedheady, come-hither coif. PAHP also gives your hair a matte finish, so if you normally go glossy, this product gives your hair a roughed up yet totally sexified texture and gives you a styling alternative.
Even in the humid, dog days of August and September, at the height of Indian Summer, this stuff gave me texture and volume. It’s versatile. It’s fragrance-free. And it works in tandem with Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic to give you that just-rolled-out-of-bed, texturized, edgy look.
Pure Abundance Hair Potion is available at www.aveda.com and at Aveda Salons. 0.7 oz. retails for $22.00.
