I think Giselle Bundchen is a super model. She has a natural glow and her skin always looks flawless. She’s never terribly made up when she appears out and about at red carpet events and that’s what I like about her. She appears pretty natural. And that’s probably what led me to check on a sighting for her skincare regimen: the marine-based beauty line Phytomer. It is winter after all, and the fluctuation in temperature can sometimes make my hands, legs, and face get very dry and feel uneven. Dehydration seems for some reason to be a big problem for me no matter what season. I know, drink more water. That always helps, but trying out skincare solutions that have tons of moisturizing properties can definitely bring you to a new level—maybe even more rapidly than eight glasses a day. So here’s where Phytomer’s HydraContinue comes in.

This line (which is one of many from Phytomer) has the special ingredient of Phéohydrane added into it. That’s an ultra-moisturizing marine extract that comes from a protective membrane layer of algae, which helps the plant retain water during low tide and sun exposure. When applied to this product line, it offers a prolonged moisturizing effect that remains active even days after use, and that’s exactly what I was looking for.
I tried out the Satin Moisturizing Body Spray, the Instant Moisture Cream (for face), and the Moisturizing Hand Cream, and the results were heavenly. I have to say my skin never felt silkier after trying the body spray, so I can understand why Leo just can’t seem to let smooth-skinned Giselle get away! Post-shower you spritz this on all over, and you’ll notice even later on in the day when you’re trapped in a three-hour meeting in an office with no windows, your shoulders still feel smooth and what little scent the product has is still simply fabulously fresh. The face cream is re-invigoratingly light and smooth upon application. It feels so good when you put it on in the evening after a shower or bath because you experience first-hand your skin being re-hydrated overnight. And that’s pretty cool. What’s also even cooler is that this product seems to have evened-out my skin’s surface. I usually tend to get some dry patches on my chin and forehead no matter what I moisturize with, but with Phytomer this problem didn’t persist. Last but not least, the hand cream made my handshake smooth enough for some people to say so and for others to grab my hand and not let go. And that’s always a good way to gauge great skincare.
