360 Degrees of Fitness

Thank goodness for innovative workout classes. Without them, I’d still be Sweatin’ to the Oldies with Richard Simmons or walking sans destination while watching mindless television on the treadmill. But if the novelty of your current pilates or pole-dancing class is wearing thin, try the Orbital 360 Rocket Workout, a brand new, twenty-minute class available at Crunch West Hollywood. The Orbital 360 combines stretching, strengthening, and cardio movement with resistance training on a single machine.

Trainer Timothy Di Pri leads this fitness adventure with a class of fifteen available Orbital “˜pods’, a flat apparatus with two handles that twist and turn in various directions. Since the moves are free flowing (don’t let that fool you, Mercury Descending killed my glutes), you can adjust the workout to suit your personal fitness level.

The Orbital 360 is 3 Dimensional and offers constant, consistent resistance perfectly suited to those who prefer cross-training. A workout junkie can conceivably stretch, strength train and work the cardiovascular system during a single class. If you’re anything like me, a bit uncoordinated that is, it may take two or three classes for your body to get up to speed. But don’t let that deter you-with the holidays just around the corner, a nice preemptive fitness strike will keep you fitting into your skinny jeans and leggings this season.
