Time to Raise the Bar?

By Kim Pantos

Stretching, Yoga, Pilates…are you an exercise buff looking for the hottest new workout? Do you want both the long and lean body of a dancer and the strength of an athlete? Why not move into Fluidity - a new method that uses your own body weight to improve posture, develop strength and tone your entire body from head to toe. The workout combines postures from yoga and Pilates with ballet resistance training into a routine that is fun, invigorating and challenging.
Why is this workout a unique way to transform your body? Instead of focusing on one muscle at a time, like traditional weight training or Pilates, the exercises integrate all your muscles at one time. The Fluidity set can be shipped directly to your house and includes DVDs that walk users through slow, dance-inspired routines, which include squats and lunges, ballet stretches and core exercises.

The Fluidity Bar is a portable, freestanding unit which provides the stability and strength of a wall-mounted bar. The bar adjusts to hip height and level of flexibility, which makes it ideal for women of all ages and fitness levels. Even better, the unit is perfect for storage since it folds down to 4” high and rolls into a closet or slides under a bed.

The creator and founder of this program, Michelle Austin, has been teaching the Fluidity method at health clubs in New York City since 2002. Austin is certified by the American Council on Exercise and is a graduate of Penn State University.

For more information about Fluidity Fitness or the Fluidity Bar home program and DVDs, go to www.Fluidity.com. The program is an at-home favorite workout for us and includes the bar, DVDs, a guide to healthy eating, a ball and resistance bands for $199.75.
