On Sunday, April 25 2010, the Beauty Bus Foundation hosted its first Beauty Drive fundraising event. The event— sponsored by OPI, Bosley, Joico and more—was a lovely and elegant affair, with many fashionable guests in attendance. Reporter Lisa Sigell of KCBS/KCAL News hosted the event, encouraging guests to bid on hot ticket items in the silent auction, such as lunch with actress Amber Valleta, and two tickets to the Indianapolis 500.
The Beauty Drive – which took place at The Mark for Events in West L.A.—raised a great deal of money for a worthwhile cause. The Beauty Bus Foundation is a non-profit organization that improves the quality of life for home-bound, terminally or chronically ill patients and their primary caregivers. They provide in-home beauty and grooming treatments—free of charge— to empower and provide relief to people during a difficult time.
Services are focused on people with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, stroke and their primary caregivers. Beauty Bus, intending to expand nationally, reaches out to compromised and isolated individuals and brings beauty into their lives. The Beauty Bus Foundation is close to the heart of Sandra Bullock, who reached out to Beauty Bus Foundation last August after seeing a piece about it on the local news.

Partygoers enjoyed interactive gourmet brunch and cocktail stations, Greek salad appetizers and sipping PAMA cocktails. Beauty stations were positioned throughout the space and guests were treated to treatments from professional makeup artists, hairstylists and manicurists. Janine Jarman from Bravo’s Shear Genius hosted a hair show, showcasing the hottest new looks for spring. Alicia Marantz Liotta and Wendy Marantz Levine, Beauty Bus Foundation’s founders, spoke about their mission and goals for the foundation.

this is amazing! what a truly humanistic thing to do for others. I can only hope our world never forgets how to be giving, even if it does seem hopeless at times…
