Strong and Shiny Spring Hair:
Send in the Spring!
By Amy Spagnola
Spring is all about renewal. A new hair cut or color can send the winter blah’s screaming back into hibernation. Hair trends for the ’08 season include angled bobs, loads of layers and the new celebrity sensation, the geisha look. Prepare to add some spring to your step.

Angled Bob with Blunt Bangs
She may soon be called a celebrity couple moniker like JimmyJens or McCarrey (for dating lovable comedian Jim Carrey) but Jenny McCartney is a fierce solo act all her own, and her hair is no exception.
She wears her platinum white blonde hair in an angled style reminiscent of the outrageously groundbreaking Victoria Beckham bob. To pull of this style, fine hair females might want to walk away from the shears. The hair type required is thick and a round brush, a smoothing serum, and even a flatiron will likely be necessary to look flawlessly coifed. But this style will hit full failure if not for a shine spray.
One to Try: Loma Hair Spray Shine – Apply on Wet or Dry hair to add major gloss, a weightless finish and luminosity comparable to the Vegas Strip.
Find it: Beauty Secrets in LA, Blue Velvet in Studio City or Bombay Salon on Robertson Blvd.

Layers Galore
Though Kate Beckinsale looks great in short hair, medium-length hair and probably a buzz cut, her long layered and slightly sunkissed locks have remained timeless and arguably her best look.
Kate often wears her shoulder grazing style in loose waves with honey highlights. This style also looks follicle fabulous with a flatiron. Since this style is all about healthy hair, it’s critical to have a strengthening shampoo and conditioner.
One to Try: Graham Webb Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner made with Creatine, prevents split ends and rebuilds the hair
Find it: Basic Beauty in LA, Beauty Collection in LA or Beauty Lab in Culver City.

Geisha Goes Wild
It’s hard to believe that a version of the bowl cut is all the rage. Katie Holmes, Christina Ricci and Heidi Klum are going for sharp and short cuts with bold fringe. And Kate Moss has put her own spin on this fun and fresh style with a shoulder length version with lots of movement.
The bangs of most Average Janes will look better swept to the side or longer in front, skimming the eyes. Hair this length requires frequent trims and has to be impeccably healthy.
One to Try: Klorane Intense Nutrition Repair Mask with mango butter to replenish hair
