A Whiter Shade Of Pale

Arm & Hammer Advance White Toothpaste and Whitening Booster promises that in four weeks, your teeth will be up to three shades whiter. Well, I wouldn’t go that far – it’s a decent product and it does whiten, but it isn’t as strong as some of the other products on the OTC market. On the other hand, it does whiten your teeth to a degree, without ripping the enamel off your choppers like a pack of hungry hyenas skinning a wildebeest. Advance White toothpaste retails for $4.99, and the Whitening Booster for $5.99.

The Crest Swirl Spin Brush, which came with the Arm & Hammer product, is a solid tool for oral care. Battery-powered, it delivers the feel and control of a manual toothbrush, but with 20 times more brush strokes. The brush features an oscillating head (up to 6000 oscillations per minute) for better cleaning performance without requiring users to change brushing behavior. Retails for $4.99 at most drug stores.
