  • You can tell a lot about a woman just by looking into her eyes. But what does it mean when her eyes are hidden behind an oversized pair of sunglasses? Unless the sun is glaring right on her, she’s probably wearing them to hide the dark circles and puffiness under her eyes. This is a common problem for all you moms. Between taking care of your kids, the house, and work, no wonder you’re so tired and it shows. Thankfully, there’s Under EyeBryten. It helps relieve the appearance of dark under eye circles and under eye puffiness, and it’s a great lotion to use under your eye makeup.

Unlike the other areas of your face, the under eye area has no real underlying fat which is why blood vessels are more visible. Peter Curtis, Vice President of Research & Development for Gar Labortories says, The ingredients in Under EyeBryten actually helps to remodel the capillary system by strengthening skin density and by increasing it’s resistance. The condition of the skin also improves as it’s more moisturized as a result of increased oxygen intake.

So what makes Under EyeBryten effective? It’s the combination of the following three ingredients they’ve trademarked. Actiflow, formulated at 4%, lightens the color of dark circles; Haloxyl lessens the appearance of d ark circles caused by the accumulation of hemoglobin in the skin; and Eyeliss prevents puffiness and reduces under eye bags. The company recommends applying Under EyeBryten twice a day, preferably in the morning and at bedtime to see dramatic results in just 28 days.

If you like Hylexin but don’t like its hefty price tag, snub the saleswoman at the department store and head over to Rite Aid or Long’s Drugs. For $24.99, you can’t lose. If for some reason you’re not satisfied with Under EyeBryten, unlike the department stores, your local drugstore will take it back for a full refund.

  • Where did the time go and when did you start showing your age? You dress younger, frequent the gym, and even eat healthy, but somehow your face gives away your age. You’ve thought about getting a face-lift, but you don’t want to end up looking like Catwoman. Hmmm, maybe it’s time for Botox, but it gets costly and you’re afraid of the side effects. There has to be something out there? There is and it’s called DermaFreeze365. This cream has only been available since May, but it’s quickly catching on as an answer to age-reversal skincare. Apply it anywhere you see fine lines and wrinkles, whether it’s on your forehead, around your mouth, or on your crows feet. Within ten minutes you’ll see these lines melt away. No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. It’s true!

How can this be? It’s the combination of their main ingredients Gaba-Biox and Bioxilift. According to the company, you’ll notice a 50-90% reduction in fine lines and wrinkles within minutes and you’ll see significant cumulative results within a month. Since it’s not a drug and there are no needles, it’s completely safe and painless, and has no side effects. I can honestly vouch for them. I noticed my laugh lines to be less distinguished after a few minutes. The directions on the package recommends waiting ten minutes before applying moisturizer and make-up, but I found you don’t even have to wait that long.

I won’t lie to you, this product isn’t going to do much for women with how should I put it, with more life experience. But if you’re re just starting to show a few lines, this is the product for you. Soon you’ll have everyone guessing your age again, not that you’ll ever tell.

You can pick up DermaFreeze365 for just $39.99 at CVS, Walgreen’s, Rite-Aid, Sav-on, and Longs Drugs or purchase it online at www.drugstore.com.

  • I am so proud to write for a section dedicated to mothers and what better way to start off the new year than by spotlighting a mom every month who inspires us to do more with our own lives. She may be the pillar of her community, a successful business owner, or an activist. Maybe she’s your mother, your son ‘s teacher, or even you. Since I can’t contact every household in the Los Angeles area, I need your help. If there’s a mom you think the readers should know about, feel free to email me with her contact information and a brief description of what makes her so extraordinary at abbey@beautynewsla.com .

The first person I’d like to introduce you to is Gigi Cossar. She is a very busy mother to an active twelve-year old girl, happily married to her loving husband of seventeen years, and runs her own successful business Extras, Actors, & Models, a direct booking service for the entertainment industry. When I first met Gigi in her office a few months ago, I was lucky enough to see her in action. Our initial meeting was to talk about some of her clients, but after talking to her I knew I had to interview her for this piece. She was intelligent, passionate about her work, and had a very humble and generous nature, all of which I admire. So let’s talk to Gigi.

BN: How long have you had your own business?
Gigi: Since 1998. My background is in fashion. I co-managed a store on Rodeo Drive, which I left when one of the clients offered me a job in the business that I’m in now. Shortly after, I started Extras, Actors, & Models.

    BN: Wow, that’s pretty impressive.
Gigi: I knew I could do it.

The best gift you can give your little ones is your time. After you’re done watching the precious smiles on your kids’ faces as they open their presents, pop in “The Alphabet Stories” in your DVD. This thirty minute video has four short stories that introduces the alphabet to your two to five year olds.

It doesn’t end there. The company behind “The Alphabet Stories” is holding a mini storyteller contest. Have your kids make up their own stories using at least six of the fifty plus animal characters. This not only helps stimulate their imaginations but also celebrates their storytelling abilities. Where does Mom come in? You write down what they say using a maximum of two hundred fifty words and submit their story to the contest.

Who knows, you could be responsible for introducing the world to the next Hemingway, and they’ll have good old Mom to thank for starting them off on the right path.

For more information about the contest and to preview “The Alphabet Stories,” visit www.cominda.com.

  • Just because you’re a mom doesn’t mean you have to have mom hair. I don’t have to go into details, you know exactly what I mean.

This holiday let your hair take center stage. Cristophe, who’s worked on some famous coifs has come up with his own line of hair products. The first time I used his volumizing shampoo and conditioner, not only could I run my fingers through my silky hair but all my friends commented on how shiny my hair looked. I am hooked!

His line includes shampoos and conditioners for all hair types, color extending products, treatment products, quality brushes that help you achieve your individual style, and even grooming products for men.

You don’t have to go very far to pick up his affordable line, just stop by your local CVS. For those of you who are totally clueless about which products are best for your hair, why not pamper yourself at his salons in Beverly Hills or Newport Beach and get expert advice. Either way it’s worth the trip. For more information on his products, visit www.cristophe.com.
