Stroller Stride Your Way into Shape
By Abbey Khan
Having a baby doesn’t mean you have to be out of shape, and now you don’t have to leave your newborn to work out. Stroller Strides is a fitness program that allows moms to get back in shape and be with their children while enjoying the great outdoors.

Each one-hour session includes a warm up, a power walk, and intervals of body toning using exercise tubing and the stroller. These exercises help improve cardiovascular endurance, strength, and flexibility.
You can start the program when your baby is as little as six weeks old. Instructors recommend attending three classes per week to see a noticeable difference, but you can come when you want. Why should you listen to these certified instructors? Because they’re moms too, and they know exactly what you’re going through. “It’s very emotional,” said Tracy Brown of West Los Angeles Stroller Strides. “We have a lot of out of town moms who end up finding a new group of friends.”
Don’t worry if your baby gets fussy, who better to understand than other moms. Of course your first priority is to tend to your baby, and since the group stops every few minutes for body toning, you can always catch up if you fall behind.
You can purchase a ten pack for $150, pay $75 per month for unlimited classes, or pay $20 per class whenever you decide on going. If you’re not sure this program is for you, go ahead and give it a test drive. The first class is on them and you’re under no obligation to sign up.
