BAMBOO BEAUTY

By C S

You are a lover of the subtle scent, rain forests fresh and wet with dew, the screech of an orange macaw as it spreads its iridescent wings and disappears, plumes and all, into a landscape dotted with waterfalls.

You are also a goddess who wouldn’t be caught dead hiking through the Amazon without properly-prepped skin, bug spray and Altoids. You love flora and fauna and therefore are intrigued by Roger & Gallet’s new Nature Body Care Range.

The range has three components: a moisturizing and firming body lotion, firming shower cream and dermoprotector firming soap, all replete with bamboo sap, or “bamboo tears.” Bamboo is said to replenish the skin’s minerals so you feel enriched and supple.

The soap feels light and luxurious; the shower cream lathers frothily as sea foam and the firming lotion glides like satin on your skin. Plus, the fragrance is subtle and not as overbearing as men’s anti-perspirant. The soap contains Palm and coconut oils and minimizes the effect of hard water on the skin.

The aesthetically pleasing packaging with contrasting pale green and white makes you feel as thought your shower cabinet has journeyed to Costa Rica. Prices are $8 for the soap and $16 each for the shower cream and firming lotion.
