You may think you know her, but you don’t. You may think she’s all about beautiful glass bottles and French fragrance, but she’s not. She’s much more. She’s “Annick Goutal” and the collection, carried on by her daughter Camille, is more luxurious than ever.
For years, we’ve gotten lost in the tempting aromas of her upscale fragrances and candles, but now her skincare line has arrived. And, it’s perfect. Actually, it’s Splendide. Really. As someone who regularly blends and dabs on everything new and renewed on the market, I can say without hesitation that herein these jars and bottles lie nothing less than absolute skincare bliss.

To begin, the packaging itself is so beautiful that no one would scoff, should you decide to keep it on display. Designed specifically for Annick Goutal by Broderie Boyon de Calais, a leading maker of lace and embroidery since 1919″“ the outside pattern is a recreation of an original rose embroidery made on manual looms.
Each ivy-etched jar in the Splendide Skincare line is filled with varying ingredients, but all are formulated with one key concentration: active rose serum. Using a protective innovation to extract rose sap by “pressing” the plants, essential oils from petals are removed while still retaining vital ingredients. Ultimately, the rose serum has astringent qualities that promote rapid cellular renewal, as well as intensely hydrating powers to fight off free radicals and prevent premature aging.
Every product in the 12-product collection is a treat in itself, but if you have to pick just one”“ the Crème Splendide is truly a deserved indulgence. This moisturizer is available in a few different formulations for specific skincare needs and immediately feels like a new layer of skin, once applied. Lovely fragrance aside, the complexion will drink in each drop of this delicate formula, leaving it silky, refreshed and rose petal soft. Literally.

Annick Goutal’s Splendide Skincare collection is available at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills or can be viewed at www.annickgoutal.com.
