Considered by many the crowning glory of the Fairmont Newport Beach hotel, Willow Stream Spa is rightly deserving of its royal reputation. It boasts touches of gold in its décor and prides itself on representing golden touches of earth’s elements and California history. Additionally, the spa uses gold to represent Hollywood style and the sun-like qualities of prosperity, strength and healing.

Though an 8,000 square foot spa and boutique might seem to thwart the idea of indulging in a cozy and intimate spa experience, Willow Stream Spa at Fairmont Newport Beach debunks this assumption. The spa and housing hotel property package the ideal OC quick getaway to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Willow Stream is made for the die-hard spa frequenter, as well as the spa novice. There are private lounges, customized treatments and seven total treatment rooms to meet every Willow whim.

The spa offers two private sanctuaries, called U rooms, which are one-of-a-kind spa experiences that feature private steam showers, whirlpool tubs and specialized products. Take a quick getaway from cell phones and the office with what feels like a long solemnly spectacular retreat in these U rooms, made just for, as the name implies - you.

The spa is unique in many ways, especially with personalized aromatic exfoliating scrubs, moisturizing muds and detoxifying bath salts - not to mention the aptly named M rooms, which offer male spa-goers flat screen TV-viewing to complement facial masques.

The spa offers many rich treatments sure to bring an oasis-state-of-mind, but our favorite among this Orange County spa’s selections is the Seasonal Experience for fall, the Total Adjustment. These seasonal experiences use Eastern Ayurveda inspired treatments with essential oils, changed each season to inject both aromatherapy and relaxation into the spa-goer’s experience. The fall treatment specializes in balancing and grounding, and the Total Adjustment is 90 minutes of bliss. A footbath, scrub, botanical body mask, herbal exfoliation with dry brushing, massage, and hot towel wrap and mini-face treatment are all included. This is another golden opportunity to experience all the spa’s exclusive treatments in a condensed singular session.

But don’t let savoring the spa get in the way of some post-relaxation shopping at Fashion Island and a sweet treat or two at Balboa Island. Even shopping at the neighboring South Coast Plaza would be a great cap to a serene spa day.
