San Francisco Spa Commands You to Relax Now With Skincare Launch
By Michelle Grabicki
San Francisco’s posh spa Relax Now touts itself as “a place to relax and get spoiled rotten,” and now they’re debuting a skincare line of the same name. With a motto like that, you don’t have to beg this BNLA girl to try out the pampering products at home.
Developed by esthetician and Relax Now owner Leslie Villarreal, the line features products with cheeky names packed with glow-inducing antioxidants and peptides.
Start off with skin that’s squeaky clean by cleansing with Squeak, a rice-based enzyme powder. This micro-exfoliator is a far cry from the powdered soap dispensed in public restrooms. Activate the enzymes by working up a rich lavender-scented lather with warm water, allowing the lactic and salicylic acid to go to work on your clogged pores while brightening your complexion.
Now that your skin is clean and you have a fresh canvas from which to work, apply the Vitamin C-rich C-ME. The soothing serum smells like honey and won’t rub or wash off after absorption—a bonus whether you’re about to apply makeup or rest your head to the pillow. The combination of green tea, Feurlic Acid, and Vitamins C and E works double time as it reduces redness, dark spots, and wrinkles while preventing future skin damage. C-ME is especially effective when paired with your daily sunscreen application as it provides 8 times the skin’s natural protection against photo aging.
While you’re doing everything you can during the day to prevent sun damage, use your sleeping hours to strip away imperfections. Strip will do just that. While you catch up on your beauty rest, the lemongrass-scented cream resurfaces your skin, lightens sun and age spots, and smoothes blemishes. The other fabulous news is you don’t need a prescription for the retinol and lactic acid formula that also contains green tea to coax your skin to relax during the stripping process. After two weeks of use, I noticed a reduction of sun spots while my super sensitive skin remained undisturbed. The formula is also effective at conquering annoying and unsightly ingrown hairs, a needed solution during the bare months of summer.
Relax Now continues the name game with a moisturizer pegged Quench, a sunscreen known as Shade, and the moisture-binding Cure.
