As with my obsession of stretch denim, my love of trips to Vegas seemed to be a passing phase. After countless college road trips and bachelorette weekends, the city eventually became to me a dreaded business convention destination. And to my surprise, while attending yet another convention recently, this Vegas-jaded girl found rekindled love at THEhotel.
THEhotel at Mandalay Bay is different than most hotels in Las Vegas as it presents an understated kind of luxury. And, as we all know, there isn’t much “understated” about this town. Throw a rock and you probably couldn’t hit “understated” for many many miles.
There is a sophistication and elegance in the simplicity of this hotel. It’s attached and part of the Mandalay Bay property, but the vibe is more boutique and modern. In a town catering to the all-night party, neon flash and grandiose décor, THEhotel wins as our favorite choice for Refined Vegas Travel.
The bathhouse spa is not to be missed. Almost worth the trip to Vegas itself, this 14,000 square foot spa is classic modern relaxation. From flowing waterfalls to slate walls and marble floors, this state-of-the-art European-esque bathhouse is beyond elegant. Leisure pools, sauna, steam room and locker areas make up the ground floor and treatment rooms line the halls of its upstairs.
Whether visiting the city of Las Vegas whole-heartedly or upon obligation, we promise you will at least look forward to returning to THEhotel. This one at least.
